I'm home!

My surgery (open rny) was on Tuesday afternoon, and my doc sent me home on Thursday afternoon. It is GREAT to be at home where I can move freely and sleep in my own bed, even if it is only 2 hours at a time, it is good, solid sleep.
The pain meds they gave me are working very well, I take them every four hours. I am a firm believer in pain management. It is my opinion that pain will hinder healing, so as long as I can keep it managed I can get to healing (this is how I feel comfortable for me, please don't be offended if you have the opposite opinion or don't agree)
My doc said I can start testing the full liquids when I feel ready to do so, I am thinking probably tomorrow.
I wanted to say thank you to everyone for their well wishes  and here is a story I think is funny:

Across the hall from me was a very friendly, funny, and lighthearted younger (than me) girl. I don't know how many docs do the "blue Popsicle test" but my doctor does. Basically they give you a super sweet sugar free blue raspberry flavored popsicle to check for any leaks in the pouch. Well if you haven't done this you can imagine how wonderful that cold popsicle feels on the dried up post surgical lips and mouth...well she finished her popsicle, and said "that was better than any steak dinner I've ever had..." and then she asked for another one!
The hospital was great, (newly remodeled bariatric unit with all private rooms). But man, as I say in my blog:
There is no place like home...click, click, click, there is no place like home...

Hi Tammy! Yeah Ileft a few hours after you did and man you ain't lying! I felt SOO much better once I got a hot shower and my nice comfy pj's on! I am going to start my full liquids today (Saturday) but I am nervous about yogurt! I hope all is well with you. See ya soon!

I'm so glad you're home!!  Those rooms were nice, weren't they?  I can't believe that girl asked for a second popsicle -- I could only eat half when I did my test.  Remember to sip and walk.  Keep me posted on how you're feeling and don't forget to call Missy to make a follow up appointment!!

Thank you Pam. Those rooms were gorgeous, my experience with the hosoital was rather positive overall. She was so funny that girl, I can not remeber her name and it is making me nuts! Anyway, I am sipping and walkingaround my house still cause I am such a clutz I am petrified of falling once I go outside! Maybe I'll try today! Take care, talk to ya later!
